Is this similar to a college course?
Yes. Think of it as spreading a full 12-hour college quarter over a more convenient schedule. In fact, completion and award of your CDA merits you the equivalent of 12 credit hours at some accredited colleges (call SUNY College to find out where). And similar to college, there is homework. The good news is that it’s less than that incurred over a typical quarter of college.

What are the time requirements?
Most classes involve one evening a week and one Saturday a month, spreading the 120 total hours required over approximately a 7 month period. We can custom design classes and times for any center wanting to participate in the CDA program. Just call us.

What are the costs and who pays?
2011 CDA courses will cost $1750 for the course instruction plus a nonrefundable $75 enrollment fee that will be applied to the course textbook when the course begins. Like any other course of higher education, the student is ultimately responsible for payment. However, if you qualify, grants are available. In addition, a sponsoring Day Care center or employer may provide additional assistance. Call us for more information.

What happens if I miss a class or two?
With the typical course lasting 7 months or more, we understand the need for flexibility. We have made some provisions throughout the course to allow for making up lessons and homework. But ultimately is it the responsibility of the student to complete the course and its requirements. Other classes in the area may be attended to make up missed class hours.

How can I find a class close to me?
Call us! If we can’t arrange for a course at your center, we’ll work to create a course somewhere in your area that you can join. We have classes starting in February 2011 in several cities and counties throughout Western New York and we’re seeking to expand into other states.
